Our Commitment to Authenticity
At FairScent, trust is the foundation of our business. FairScent is operated by Fairscent Limited Liability Company, a registered business based in Albany, New York, USA. We are an independent retailer and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an authorized dealer of any fragrance brand. Brand names and logos are used only to identify the products we sell.
Because the fragrance market can be confusing and sometimes risky, we follow strict guidelines for how we source and handle every bottle.
1. 100% Authentic, Brand-New Fragrances
Every product sold on FairScent.com is:
- 100% genuine – original fragrance made by the brand’s manufacturer.
- Brand new and factory-sealed – in its original retail packaging.
- Sold as “New” only – no used or refurbished products.
We do not sell:
- Counterfeits or fakes
- Illegal replicas that copy another brand’s name, logo, or packaging
- Unboxed items or testers sold as new
- Decants, samples, or any rebottled liquids
If we ever offer testers, unboxed, or otherwise non-standard packaging in the future, they will be clearly labeled on the product page and never listed as “new.”
2. How We Source Our Inventory
To protect you and our brand partners, we do not buy from open marketplaces or unknown third-party sellers.
Instead, we source exclusively from reputable US fragrance distributors and wholesalers, including established companies such as Perfume Center of America (PCA) and similar long-standing distributors.
These are the same types of supply channels that serve major department stores and specialty retailers. By purchasing through these verified partners, we ensure that:
Products arrive directly from trusted US distribution, not from random resellers.
Each fragrance is factory sealed and in the original manufacturer packaging.
3. Verifying Your Fragrance
We are confident in the authenticity of every item we ship, and we encourage you to verify your bottle:
- Most fragrances include a batch code or lot number on the box and/or bottle.
- You may check this code using publicly available cosmetic/fragrance batch code databases to confirm production details.
If you ever have a concern about the authenticity of a product, contact us at info@fairscent.com with your order number and photos of the packaging and batch code. We will review the case, investigate with our distributors, and work with you to resolve it.
4. Returns, Safety & Hygiene
Due to hygiene and safety standards, we generally cannot accept returns on opened, unsealed, or used fragrances, except where required by law or in specific cases we approve after review. Our full rules are detailed in our Refund Policy.
We strongly recommend inspecting the outer packaging and batch code before breaking the seal. If anything appears damaged or inconsistent on arrival, please contact us before opening the product so we can help right away.
5. Documentation & Platform Verification
For compliance purposes, we maintain full supply-chain documentation, including commercial invoices from our distributors that show product origin and quantities.
When online platforms or brand partners request verification, we can provide this documentation to confirm the authenticity and lawful sourcing of the fragrances we sell.
